Customer Obsession Leads to Center Stage: Spot AI's Iris Launch at Google Cloud Next '25

It started with a simple question to a frustrated security director: "What keeps you up at night?"

The answer was clear across hundreds of conversations with businesses across America: "We have all this video footage, but we can't do anything meaningful with it until it's too late."

This challenge – echoed by manufacturing supervisors watching product quality issues, warehouse managers concerned about unsafe stacking, and healthcare administrators tracking unauthorized access – became our obsession. Their pain points weren't just feedback; they became our roadmap.

That customer-first approach led us to one of our proudest moments yet: Yesterday at Google Cloud Next '25, our CEO Rish Gupta took the stage to unveil Iris – the first conversational Video AI Agent builder that transforms how the physical economy interacts with video data.

When Your Customers' Problems Become Your Mission

90% of our economy runs on the physical world – the manufacturing floors, warehouses, hospitals, and retail stores where frontline heroes keep America running. Despite their critical importance, these industries have been largely left behind by the AI revolution that's transforming knowledge work.

Why? Because traditional approaches to video AI required specialized teams with advanced degrees, months of development time, and massive datasets that most businesses simply couldn't access.

Our customers couldn't wait that long. The safety supervisor at a manufacturing plant needed to detect unsafe equipment operation now. The warehouse manager needed to identify improper pallet stacking before an accident happened. The retail director needed to know when shelves were emptying while there was still time to restock.

From Customer Conversations to Google Cloud Next

By putting these real-world challenges at the center of our work, we developed what no one else had: a way for anyone to create custom Video AI Agents through simple conversation.

No coding. No technical skills. Just talking to your system the way you'd explain the problem to a colleague. What used to take months and a team of engineers now takes minutes and simple instructions.

This breakthrough approach caught Google's attention, earning us an invitation to present at Google Cloud Next '25, where Rish joined a media roundtable to demonstrate how Iris is democratizing access to advanced AI.

During his talk, Rish explained how a security director could simply say: "Alert me when someone uses bolt cutters in the parking lot between midnight and 5 AM," and Iris would build a custom agent to handle that specific detection – no AI expertise required.

"This isn't just a technology advancement," Rish says to the journalists and industry leaders. "This is about giving the backbone of the world's economy the tools they've always deserved but never had."

What Our Customers Can Do With Iris

Iris transforms how businesses interact with their security camera systems:

  • A manufacturing supervisor can create a custom agent to detect specific quality issues on a production line, with automatic alerts when problems arise
  • A warehouse manager can train an agent to identify when pallets are stacked unsafely, preventing accidents before they happen
  • A healthcare administrator can build an agent that distinguishes between staff and visitors in restricted areas, enhancing patient privacy and safety
  • A retail director can deploy agents that monitor inventory levels across multiple locations, optimizing restocking schedules

Each of these solutions comes from listening intently to our customers' unique challenges and building technology that addresses their specific needs – not forcing them to adapt to generic, off-the-shelf products.

The Journey Continues

Being featured at Google Cloud Next '25 is a milestone we're incredibly proud of, but it's just one step in our ongoing mission. We'll continue talking to our customers, understanding their evolving challenges, and developing solutions that make their work safer, more efficient, and more productive.

We're not building AI to impress Silicon Valley. We're building it for the people who power our factories, secure our buildings, and keep our communities safe.
